The Process

I find the process of designing, printing/cutting, and weeding stickers very relaxing. What do I mean by weeding, you ask? That is a very good question, and one that I did not know the answer to until about a month ago. Weeding diecut things is the process of picking/peeling off unwanted parts of vinyl to reveal the desired image. I've included a video of the printing/cutting and weeding process.

Now, I know what you're thinking: Isn't this process painstaking, dull, and repetitive? Yes, and that's what makes it wonderful. Perhaps I'm a bit masochistic, but I find repetitive tasks soothing to my ever-processing brain. Turning on some music, keeping my hands busy, and letting my brain wander does a lot for my mental health. Time slips away and I finish feeling refreshed. You should do a repetitive task sometime and see if it helps your brain.

These stickers take a lot to make, but it's work that I enjoy and find fulfilling. My favorite part, however, is when I find a fellow nerd who gets the reference/inside joke/quote/etc. I am always reminded that I'm not a solo nerd - I have people in my community that get me in some capacity. I hope these stickers will have the same affect on you and help you find your people.

Live nerdy!
